Menzies works at the frontline, joining with partners across the Asia-Pacific as well as Indigenous communities across northern and central Australia.About the position:This position requires an experienced trainer who can deliver the 10815NAT Certificate II in Community Health Research in a context adjusted according to the individual research projects delivered by Menzies and their research partners and the communities in which research projects will run. The VET Training Coordinator will not only be able to meet the stringent administrative requirements of VET but they will be able to negotiate with researchers to determine the skills and knowledge required and be able to deliver in a both-ways context, sensitive to the cultural diversity of Indigenous groups in the Northern Territory. They should be able to demonstrate that they are a flexible thinker with experience in the development and adaptation of learning and assessment materials.The VET Training Coordinator will:To conduct negotiations with researchers to identify and map the specific requirements of research projects against the knowledge and skills that Community Based Researchers will require to carry out their roles in the project while achieving the competencies required in the 10815NAT Certificate II in Community Health Research.To design training and assessment materials that enable Community Based Researchers to achieve the competencies required in the 10815NAT Certificate II in Community Health Research while developing an understanding of the project that they will be involved in.To plan, schedule and manage the delivery of training in a dynamic environment.To deliver the planned activities utilizing a both-ways framework, making reasonable adjustment according to the LLN requirements of those being trained.To collect, store and track evidence of learners’ achievements.To ensure that all data, reporting, budgetary and training regulatory compliance requirements are met.Ensure compliance with the Third Party Agreement that exists between Menzies and Charles Darwin University (as the Registered Training Organisation) and review when required.Comply with accreditation and auditing requirements within required timeframes.The successful applicant will have:TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment along with other tertiary qualifications in a health-related discipline.Evidence of a high standard of teaching and assessing in Vocational and Education and Training including adaption and development of teaching materials.Experience in the administration of Vocational and Education and Training including student and other record keeping, validation, applying for ACH and AWB, and booking travel ideally to remote locations.Demonstrated experience in continuous improvement processes in delivery of training.The ability to travel to remote communities, often by light aircraft or four wheel drive and deliver training in remote communities, often with limited resources.
