If this sounds like you, join our team to help make a difference.Be part of an exciting opportunity!Menzies School of Health Research is looking to engage an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander Research Nurse to be part of a new, randomised controlled trial to assess whether an additional ear examination plus support from Aboriginal Ear Health Practitioners to the families of children admitted to Royal Darwin Hospital will improve health outcomes.The Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander Research Nurse will work as part of the study team to conduct participant recruitment, ear examinations, clinical diagnosis and ear health management decisions whilst ensuring high quality health data collection.They will also be responsible for providing advice and education to the families of study participants, supporting them through the hospital discharge process. Additionally, the role will involve contact tracing of trial participants and conducting follow-up visits in community. They will be joining a friendly and supportive team, with training on study procedures and the opportunity to develop their research skills and knowledge.Please see the Position Description for a full list of responsibilities including a list of essential selection criteria.What you will bring to the roleAs an enthusiastic, qualified Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander Research Nurse, you will have a tertiary qualification in Nursing, plus experience working in either a hospital or community-based health service. In addition, you will have current registration with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).This role requires good communication skills (both verbally and in writing), strong work ethic and problem-solving skills.
