Clinical Research Manager/Research Midwife

About the Role:Menzies is looking for a Clinical Research Manager/ Research Midwife to be part of a new, randomised controlled trial to assess whether a single dose of oral azithromycin given before birth will reduce the rate of bacterial infections in mothers and babies.  The Clinical Research Manager/ Research Midwife will be responsible for the trials management, supervision of Aboriginal Health Practitioners and ensuring that the research study meets the standards of Good Clinical Practice (GCP) guidelines, the Australian Code for the Responsible Conduct of Research and the National Statement on Ethical Conduct in Human Research participant recruitment, clinical assessments, data collection and entry and conducting follow up visits. They will also conduct hospital, clinic and community visits. This position will be based in Darwin and will require travel to remote communities (by light aircraft or 4WD) for up to 3 days per trip and several times per year. What you will bring to the roleAs an enthusiastic, qualified Midwife you will have current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and at least four (4) years’ relevant experience working in maternal/child health or in remote Indigenous community health environments such as within communities, hospitals and health service settings in the Northern Territory.
