Full time, fixed term role to 31 December 2023Based in Darwin About MenziesAs one of Australia’s leading medical research institutes dedicated to improving the health and wellbeing of Indigenous Australians, and a leader in global and tropical research into life-threatening illnesses, Menzies School of Health Research continues to translate its research into effective partnerships and programs in communities across Australia and the Asia-Pacific region.About the position:The Clinical Trial Team Manager will lead the ongoing implementation, reporting and completion of the Hearing for Learning Initiative (HfLI) trial according to the published protocol and ensuring adherence to guidelines for the ethical conduct of research, data safety and quality.The HfLI is an innovative community-based approach founded on evidence-based research. The primary aim of the HfLI is to reduce the prevalence of ear disease and hearing loss among Aboriginal children in the Northern Territory, thereby enhancing early language development, school readiness, school attendance and performance. The HfLI also evaluates an innovative workforce model of on-country training and employment to enhance ear and hearing health care support across 20 urban, rural and remote communities. This training is delivered on-country by qualified trainers for local community members who transition to employment in the health service as Ear Health Facilitators.In addition to overseeing and managing a team responsible for the delivery of training and community engagement, the Clinical Trial Team Manager will be required to work closely with the Senior Principal Research Fellow to prepare reports for stakeholders including peaks bodies, the HfLI governance structure and funding partners.The successful candidate is required to have either postgraduate qualifications in a relevant health related field or extensive relevant experience and management expertise. They will have demonstrated experience in project management in accordance with Good Clinical Practice (GCP) Guidelines, the Australian Code for the Responsible Conduct of Research, and National Statement on Ethical Conduct in Human Research.This position will be based full time in Darwin, with travel to remote communities by light aircraft or 4WD up to four days per trip, up to twice a month.What we offer:6 weeks annual leaveOption to increase super to 14%Attractive salary package and benefits $128,298 - $138,719 pa including superannuation and salary packaging (comprising gross salary $102,636 - $111,778 per annum).Contact: Professor Amanda Leach via email Amanda.Leach@menzies.edu.auClosing date:  Sunday 26 June 2022Applicants must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 as well as be willing to comply with the Top End Health Services Staff Immunisation Policy.
