The role:Menzies School of Health Research is looking for a First Nations Youth Project Assistant to contribute to the Aboriginal and Islander Mental health initiative (AIMhi), a project committed to developing testing and training in mental health promotion strategies for First Nations people. The Youth Project Assistant will be specifically engaged with the AIMhi for Youth (AIMhi-Y) - A digital mental health meeting place for First Nations young people project. This project aims to develop, implement and evaluate the AIMhi-Y support package, which seeks to improve the mental health and wellbeing of First Nations young people accessing mental health services.Under supervision of the Project Site Lead, you will be closely mentored and supported by senior First Nations and non-Indigenous researchers and work closely with research teams and research participants in the project and administrative support of the study.Casual positions are available in Alice Springs and Adelaide. The ability to work flexible hours is essential. About you:To be successful in this role you must have a willingness to learn, be interested in working collaboratively with research teams, have motivation to build positive and professional working relationships with young people (under 25 years of age), able follow verbal and written instructions and maintain confidentiality. You will also have developing computer skills, including using Microsoft Office suite, smartphones and tablets.Please note, this position has multiple classification levels, General Staff Level (GSL) 1 - 3.
