Human Resources Advisor

The role:The Human Resources Advisor role, reporting to the Coordinator HR Services, is integral to the Human Resources team. The role works alongside other HR team members to provide the first point of contact and professional day to day generalist HR advice, support and solutions to the business across all facets of HR operational service delivery.  The role operates on a business partner model with a designated internal client group. Consideration would be given for a less experienced / qualified candidate for appointment as a Human Resources Officer (GSL 5) and would receive closer supervision from the Coordinator HR Services and the focus would be on operational HR support, service and advice. Based in Darwin, the incumbent will be part of a small human resources team at Menzies.  About you:As an experienced Human Resources Advisor, you will possess either a relevant degree and several years of HR experience or an equivalent combination of HR experience and education/training. You also have:experience in the provision of HR operational services and advice with a particular emphasis on recruitment / talent acquisitionhigh level communication skills, ability to interpret and advise on HR policies, procedures and awards / agreementsdemonstrated organisations skills with an ability to handle sensitive information in a discrete and confidential manner.high level of initiative and good judgement regarding when to take action and when to seek further adviceproven ability to be able to support Managers / Supervisors with advice on employee performance and potential grievance related issuesexperience working with MyRecruitment+ and Aurion payroll would be advantageousexperience working in the Higher Education or Health Research sector would be advantageous. About Menzies:Menzies is one of Australia’s leading medical research institutes dedicated to improving the health and wellbeing of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, and a leader in global and tropical research into life-threatening illnesses.
