The Menzies Timor-Leste office currently manages three main projects, STRONG-TL, the Fleming Fund Country Grant for Timor-Leste and a seroprevalence study (ARIA-RISE), with other smaller projects and partnerships running concurrently.Currently the Menzies office in Darwin assists in procurement for research projects being implemented in Timor-Leste, and supports procurement of laboratory supplies associated with implementation of new technology and growth in the laboratory’s testing capacity with subsequent planned transition of procurement for ongoing service delivery needs to the Ministry of Health.The Logistics and Administration Officer will provide logistic support to the health system strengthening projects, responsible for the efficient delivery of supplies to Timor-Leste, in accordance with Australian and Timor-Leste legislation and regulations and Menzies’ policies and approved practices. The Logistics and Administration Officer will play a key role in the coordination of activity between Dili and Darwin. The incumbent will also work closely with the Menzies Laboratory in Darwin and will be trained in laboratory operating procedures and guidelines and will be required to adhere to these.The successful applicant will have:Tertiary qualification in a health-related field, or completion of an associate diploma with at least two years’ experience and specialist expertise in logistics, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.Sound understanding of logistics operations and practices and familiarity with supply chain management.Demonstrated organisational and planning skills, the ability to prioritise workloads and to work independently, with minimal guidance in a fast paced environment whilst achieving results and meeting tight deadlines.Ability to operate in a complex, dynamic work environment (international freight with limited supply chain routes in current COVID-19 environment) showing patience, flexibility and a solutions-focused approach.Ability to establish and preserve productive partnerships with external stakeholders and to nurture effective working relationships with the project teams.Strong communication, negotiation and liaison skills, especially in a cross-cultural setting and the ability to interact effectively with people from diverse cultures.Willingness to learn, continuously improve and to respond positively to feedback and supervision.Capacity and willingness to undertake training in laboratory operating procedures and guidelines, ensuring compliance to them at all times.Thorough understanding of MS Office applications and the ability to assess complex information from multiple sources and draw logical conclusions.Contact: Debbie Hall on 08 8946 8648 or debbie.hall@menzies.edu.auWhat we offer:6 weeks annual leaveOption to increase super to 14%Attractive salary package and benefits $85,473 - $91,166 pa, pro-rata salary package (comprising gross salary $65,190 - $70,166 pa, pro-rata, superannuation and salary packaging benefits).Closing date:  21 March 2021Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people are strongly encouraged to applyTo apply for this position please follow this link, applicants are required to submit a copy of your current CV, and a maximum two-page cover letter addressing your ability to fulfill the responsibilities.POSITION DESCRIPTION AUD Darwin
