Menzies Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Mental health initiative (AIMhi) tackles these challenges by empowering Indigenous people through strengths-based research approaches. Our research focus includes communicating 'two-way' mental health messages, discovering ways to overcome language and literacy barriers, and training service providers in the use of developed resources with a key focus on e-mental health tools.The Project Administrative Assistant will be responsible for providing full range of administrative duties, such as travel and accommodation bookings, purchase of equipment, database entry, minute taking, distribution of resources and managing enquiries. The role will also include preparation and printing of documents for training, follow up support and as required within related AIMhi projects. The Project Administrative Assistant will also assist in some research activities including data collection, data entry and assistance with ensuring data quality. This Position is based in Adelaide and the incumbent will liaise with research team members in the NT as applicable in the ongoing support of AIMhi projects.The Project Administrative Assistant will:Provide administrative support in managing external enquiries, including arrange meetings, distribute agendas, take minutes and facilitate actions by relevant team members within Division.Assist with organising training and workshops including coordinating logistical detailsMaintain office and administrative systems and processes, including invoicing, records and file management allowing accurate tracking of correspondence and project documentation.Provide assistance with data collection, data entry and data quality assurance activitiesAssist with travel accommodation bookings, venues and catering arrangements for AIMhi events.Assist with any other tasks as reasonably required by the supervisor, and/or team leader.Undertake occasional travel intra/interstate to support trainings/conferences/meetingsAdditional responsibilities for appointment at GSL 4:Provide secretarial support to AIMhi team.Assist with the preparation of funding proposals, as directed.Assist with the preparation and implementation of knowledge translation and dissemination strategies associated with research outputsThe successful applicant will have:Completion of Year 12 with relevant work experience or equivalent relevant experience or combination of relevant experience and education.Proven experience in an administrative role (including organising meetings, travel bookings, preparation of reports and management of information).Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing, including the ability to prepare correspondence in accordance with required formats while maintaining confidentiality.Sound computer literacy including expertise in Microsoft Office suite of applications and a demonstrated ability to quickly acquire skills in new software packages.Demonstrated good interpersonal communication skills and ability interact with a range of people from diverse cultures and backgrounds.Demonstrated capacity to work under routine supervision as part of a multidisciplinary team, developing organisational and time management skills, and contribute to timely achievement of project activity and other deadlines.Flexibility, adaptability and willingness to learn new skills where required.Awareness of considerations for working cross culturally.Additional selection criteria for appointment at GSL 4:Completion of an associate diploma level or a certificate level qualification with post-certificate relevant work experience.Demonstrated capacity to work independently without direct supervision under broad direction and as part of a multidisciplinary team, maintain good organisational and time management skills and ability to meet deadlines, to undertake a range of tasks.Proven ability to build strong productive relationship with a range of stakeholders and research partners including government agencies, research institutions, non-government organisations, health services, and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities. Contact: Michelle Sweet on 0438 234 644 or email michelle.sweet@menzies.edu.auClosing date:  Sunday, 15 August 2021This Position is designated for Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people only.The position will only be open to Aboriginal and Torres Straight Islander applicants.
