Project Manager – Health System Strengthening

Full-time or Part Term, Fixed Term contract until August 2025based in Darwin  Be part of an exciting opportunity!Menzies School of Health Research is looking for a Project Manager, Health System Strengthening, to manage priority projects to improve the delivery of health care to Territorians.With over 35 years of achievement in health and medical research, Menzies is currently setting its strategic direction over the future 5 years. This is an exciting time to join the team and lead the coordination of multiple priority Health Systems projects across the organization, by providing high level management expertise and strategic initiative to ensure efficient and effective delivery of multi-partner, multi-site projects on time and within budget.The successful candidate will seek opportunities to enhance the impact of priority projects and develop and implement strategies to leverage these opportunities and manage the achievement of key project activities through effective human and financial resource management, contract management and efficient procurement and logistics. You will ensure compliance with, continuously improving on, operational systems, policies and processes, tracking, managing and reporting on project operational risks. What you will bring to the roleTo be successful in this role you must be highly motivated, organised, able to work in a fast-paced environment, and have demonstrated high level project management experience with a comprehensive knowledge of financial management and a sound knowledge of budgetary processes.You also possess:A relevant postgraduate qualification, or progress towards postgraduate qualifications and extensive management experience; or extensive experience and management expertise; or an equivalent combination of management experience and/or education/training.The ability to work independently, with proven experience in the successful coordination of multiple on-going projects and the management of multidisciplinary teams.Proven high level interpersonal, written and oral communication skills in a variety of contexts.An ability to work cross-culturally and in particular with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and organisations.Demonstrated experience with collaborative partnerships and a well-developed capacity to consult, collaborate and negotiate effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders..Why MenziesMenzies is one of Australia’s leading medical research institutes dedicated to improving the health and wellbeing of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, and a leader in global and tropical research into life-threatening illnesses.
