Data Coordinator

Full-time (1.0 FTE), Continuing Contract, based in Darwin  Be part of an exciting opportunity!Menzies School of Health Research is looking for a Research Data Coordinator to provide expert technical services and advice across the research data lifecycle including data management plans, databases, access, curation, storage, security, retention and disposal.Supporting the Research Data and Systems Manager, the Research Data Coordinator contributes to the continuing development and implementation of Menzies’ research data management framework, ensuring compliance with regulatory and legislative instruments. The position is responsible for facilitating researchers access to research related systems, software, and training and assistance.This role will manage Menzies responsibilities for security, storage, retention and disposal of data to prescribed regulatory, legislative and institutional standards, and provide advice and training in broad areas of data management including establishment of data management plans; use, discovery and reuse of data; open access repositories; cataloguing and metadata; data linkage; design, use and storage of databases; and cleaning, querying and reporting of data. What you will bring to the role:To be successful in this role you must be highly motivated, organised, have a keen eye for details and able to work in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will have exceptional planning, organisational, analytical and project management skills.You also possess:A degree in a highly relevant field with at least four years’ subsequent experience in research information management, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and education or training.Experience with or knowledge of quantitative and qualitative research methods, research computing, and research data management and curation.Demonstrated management of databases for the collection, use and storage of research data in accordance with compliance and governance requirements.Proficiency database programs including but not limited to MariaDB/MySQL, Microsoft Access and REDCap.
