Research Fellow / Senior Research Fellow

Full-time, fixed-term contract until 30 June 2025Based in Alice Springs(Darwin base location may be considered under exceptional circumstances) Be part of an exciting opportunity!Menzies is looking for either a Research Fellow or Senior Research Fellow to join their Remote & Rural Health Services Research team. The successful candidate will join the team in leading a three-year research project entitled, "Optimising digital solutions to improve access to Comprehensive Primary Health Care (CPHC)". The goal of this study is to evaluate the implementation and use of digital technologies that support CPHC in remote Indigenous communities by exploring how technology can be applied, enhanced or modified to strengthen and support existing CPHC models as well as how CPHC can be further enhanced by technological innovations. This unique study will accommodate consumer and provider preferences regarding virtual care and address the lack of knowledge on how to deploy digital tools to best support CPHC in remote Australia. The study involves a collaboration that includes Menzies, the University of Sydney, NT Department of Health, the Aboriginal Community Controlled sector, the NT Primary Health Network and other industry partners under the auspice of the Digital Health Co-operative Research Centre. What you will bring to the roleAs an experienced researcher with an established track record, you will have relevant PhD qualifications in a related medicine, public health, health sciences, healthcare, or health services discipline area.The successful applicant will have proven ability to make significant and original high-quality contributions to research through activities such as quality publications and external grant acquisitions, with demonstrated capacity to develop, manage and lead research projects with well-developed communication and reporting skills. You will have highly developed quantitative, qualitative and/or mixed methods analytical skills and experience with managing, analysing and interpreting health data in an ethical and confidential manner. You will have strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with a diverse range of individuals and organisations, including people from diverse cultures, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, health practitioners and policy makers. The successful candidate will also have excellent computer skills, with demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office, databases and data analysis software.
