Part Time (0.6 FTE / 0.8 FTE) or Full-time (1.0 FTE)Fixed Term Contract to end December 2023based in Alice Springs Be part of an exciting opportunity!Menzies School of Health Research is looking engage a Research Nurse to undertake a pivotal role in the NT Safety and Efficacy of Iron in Haemodialysis Study (INFERR study).This is a clinical Randomised Controlled Trial (RCT) to establish the benefits and harms of IV iron therapy use for Indigenous Australians with hyperferritinaemia in the setting of anaemia. The INFERR study will be conducted in collaboration with all Renal units across the NT and will aim to recruit and randomise 576 patients over 40 months.Under the guidance of the Chief Investigator and Research Operation Support Manager, the Research Nurse will work within a team and be responsible for participant recruitment, clinical data and specimen collection, and follow-up visits according to the study protocol and standard operating procedures.They will facilitate additional pathology collection as stipulated in the study protocol, ensuring that participant’s iron regime is following the appropriate iron regime form signed by the site PI as per study protocol and randomization assignment. Willingness to undertake training in FibroScan® technique, reporting and to eventually perform all clinical aspects of the FibroScan® procedure. What you will bring to the roleAs an enthusiastic, qualified clinical professional, you will have relevant tertiary qualifications and at least 4 years’ experience working in a medical or health field and current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) or Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.The successful applicant will also have exceptional communication skills and the ability to engage effectively with community stakeholders, renal service providers, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community organisations, and the ability to work collaboratively with health professionals and academic colleagues.
