The goal of these studies is to develop policies and practice that improve health outcomes for childrenThis laboratory-based position primarily entails performing microbiological tests to support our Paediatric Respiratory Microbiome Research Program. The Research Officer will perform a range of laboratory techniques which may include, but are not limited to, bacterial cultures, nucleic acid extractions, PCR testing, bacterial interaction assays, host-microbial interaction assays, biofilm testing and phage assays. The Research Officer will be expected to establish, optimise and validate new methods, as required. The role will provide opportunities for career development through contributions to publications and supervision of junior staff and students.
