About the Role:Menzies is looking for a Senior Aboriginal Health Practitioner to be part of a new, randomised controlled trial to assess whether an additional ear examination plus support from Aboriginal Health Practitioners to the families of children admitted to Royal Darwin Hospital will improve health outcomes.The Senior Aboriginal Health Practitioner will be responsible for supervising the research team and oversee participant recruitment, ear examinations, clinical diagnosis and ear health management decisions, conduct data entry and follow up visits. They will be joining a friendly and supportive team, with training on study procedures and the opportunity to develop their research skills and knowledge.This position will be based in Darwin and may require travel to remote communities (by light aircraft or 4WD) for up to five (5 days) per trip, three (3) to five (5) times per year.What you will bring to the roleAs an enthusiastic, qualified Senior Aboriginal Health Practitioner, you will have at least four (4) years’ experience working in child health or in remote Indigenous community health environments such as within communities, hospitals and health service settings in the Northern Territory where you have experience in providing recommendations to health professionals and developed treatment plans.
