Financial Controller

Parental Leave Placement until June 2024 The role:This position plays a senior role in ensuring the objectives of the Finance Department are met by managing accounting and compliance services.The successful candidate will be required to provide leadership, direction, expert advice, analysis and co-ordination in the development and implementation of financial management strategies to enhance Menzies capability and sustainability and support its strategic targets and imperatives.You will also be required to develop and provide relevant, timely and accurate financial reports, management reports, budgeting, forecasting and other relevant analysis tools to stakeholders across the organisation; ensure timely and accurate financial reporting and other support to the Finance Committee, and oversee procurement practices within Menzies.Based in Darwin, the incumbent will be part of a small finance team at Menzies. About you:As an experienced professional, you will possess either postgraduate qualifications and extensive relevant experience or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and training together with a CA / CPA qualification.  You also have:Demonstrated experience in managing and driving transformation and continuous improvement resolving issues of a complex nature.Experience managing staff and provide guidance and leadership to lower-level staff and foster a positive and high-performing workplace culture.Experience or demonstrated ability to develop financial strategies to enhance organisational sustainability and capacity within a substantially grant funded organisation.Exceptional interpersonal, communication and liaison skills, including the ability to liaise effectively with internal and external stakeholders, with demonstrated ability to communicate complex procedures regarding to non-finance stakeholders both verbally and in writing. Please refer to the position description for the further information regarding the primary responsibilities and selection criteria for this vacancy. To apply for this position, you will need to provide proof of your right to work in Australia.  This could be a working visa, evidence of permanent resident status, an Australian or New Zealand passport, an Australian birth certificate or a certificate of Australian citizenship.
