The Role:The ‘Diabetes Across the Lifecourse: Northern Australia Partnership’ is a collaboration between health service providers, policy makers, researchers, and communities across Northern Australia based at Menzies School of Health Research.We are seeking a Project Assistant who will contribute to the team’s community-based, co-design work that aims to implement a strengths-based approach to support and improve health and social and emotional wellbeing of young people with type 2 diabetes. We are looking to offer the right candidate a part time (0.5 FTE -18 hours per week) fixed term contract until November 2025.Some additional responsibilities for appointment at a higher-level PAT 5:Take a leading role in the preparation and implementation of knowledge translation and dissemination strategies associated with research outputs.Contribute to the development, delivery and evaluation of training, co-design and promotion activities. About you:As a motivated individual, you will come with strong communication skills andThe ability to build strong productive relationship with a range of stakeholders and research partners.You also have:Completion of a Diploma, with relevant work experience; or a combination of education/ training and relevant experience.Demonstrated experience working in a culturally sensitive and accountable manner that is supportive and collaborative of Aboriginal individuals, families and communities for the betterment of Aboriginal health and wellbeing. Some additional selection criteria for appointment at higher level PAT 5:Completion of a tertiary qualification; or other formal qualification with post certificate relevant work experience.Experience assisting with events coordination along with planning and implementation of programs and initiatives within strategies.
