Research Program Manager

They will excel in overseeing research activities, including participant recruitment, clinical data and biological sample collection, resource allocation, and stakeholder engagement. A strong commitment to upholding high ethical standards and cultural sensitivity, particularly when working with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander communities.This position is based in Darwin and will require travel to remote communities (by light aircraft or 4WD) for participant recruitment for up to three (3) days per trip, up to six (6) to eight (8) times per year. About You:As a motivated individual, you will have a postgraduate qualification or pursuing one with relevant experience in either a hospital or community-based health service.You will also bring:Leadership: Proven ability to lead and manage a multidisciplinary research team, including staff supervision, resource planning, recruitment, mentoring, and performance management.Financial Management: Strong skills in budget forecasting, expenditure monitoring, financial reporting, and procurement processes.Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of engaging with Aboriginal and diverse cultural communities, negotiating with stakeholders, and producing high-quality reports.Work Ethic: Demonstrates initiative, effective problem-solving, and the ability to prioritise tasks, manage deadlines, and work independently with minimal supervision. Please see a full list of primary responsibilities and selection criteria in the position description. Why MenziesMenzies is a national leader in research and education that improves health outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and populations across our region.
